DESIGN PROCESS

1: Consultation
The initial consultation with your design2space, inc. designer is a super productive meeting, up to 2 hours, when you and your designer work as a team to begin the vision for your project! We will take a tour of the spaces to be decorated or renovated and any other spaces that might be relevant to your design plan. We discuss your needs, vision, budget, time frame, and make recommendations for improving the space. This is a working appointment where we provide valuable information, advice, resources, and a solid direction for your design project. We will also review "Mission" and the terms of our "Letter of Agreement".

**See our "Initial Consultation" page for more information and to schedule**

2: Project Scope

We outline the scope of work for the project, design intent and goals and any associated fee's. Initial 50% deposit is collected and "Letter of Agreement" approved.

3: Concept Development

This is where we take the time to plan your project. We start with a design concept which is further developed through renderings, sketches, elevations, and colour schemes. We source all materials, fixtures and furnishings. During this step, we work closely with our tradespeople to meet onsite and collect bids based on the scope of the project. An initial budget is also developed during this step.

4: Initial Design Presentation

Meet with you to go over the details of your custom design concept. This includes all floor plans and/or renderings, colour scheme, mood board, fabric samples, furniture selections, etc.

5: Final Design Presentations

The Final Presentation includes professional drawings, colour scheme, all furnishings, fabric memos and detailed budget breakdown. All information is laid out so that you will be able to visualize what the finished space will look like. Any adjustments to the budget due to revisions are agreed upon at this meeting.

6: Site Measure & Planning with Trades

Next, we invite all the trades that will be involved in the process for a site visit to discuss the project scope and to take measurements and photos. They will each provide a written estimate outlining their scope of work and the cost for labour and/or materials. These estimates will be presented and approved.

7: Construction & Project Management (if applicable & in the contract)

This step is where we initiate our agreed upon role in any construction or renovation included in your project. This usually means that we are collaborating with builders, vendors, fabricators and other contractors, and making the necessary site visits to ensure a successful process and timely completion.

In this step, we also assist in the creation of all purchase orders, track orders, assess lead times, note any back-orders or discontinued items that may delay the project, and make decisions whether or not to re-select.

8: Initial Installations (if applicable & in the contract)

This is where all the items we ordered are received at your home or job site, inspected for damages, tagged and stored (where possible) for the big installation day. Claims and reorders are made for any items that arrive damaged. We prefer to install in one day instead of several different deliveries arriving onsite, however, some custom items IE. like window treatments will be installed prior to the big day. The project balance owed is required at this time.

9: Project Reveal (if applicable & in the contract)

This is what we all wait for; items are installed and styled for a beautiful and inspiring finish!

This is also the exciting moment when we walk through the finished space and point out all the features and benefits of each item. The walk-through may happen on the same day of the reveal or on a separate day.
